The Bartow County School Police is once again asking for your help in funding the 2023 Shop with a Hero program. The Shop with a Hero program provides approximately 300 underprivileged elementary-age children the opportunity to go Christmas shopping with someone from law enforcement, EMS, fire department, military, and educators. Each recipient is required to spend two-thirds of the money on clothing and or needs and one-third on whatever they choose. Additionally, approximately 200 gift cards will be sent to middle and high school students. All children selected to participate in this event are Bartow County residents chosen by Bartow County and Cartersville city school personnel.
This annual event is put on by the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of other agencies. It is scheduled to take place this year on Saturday, December 18, 2023. The Bartow County School Police is asking for each school to assist by raising at least $100.00 per school.
Last year was again a huge success; the Bartow County School system alone raised more than $13,000.00, more than doubling the previous year. We presented the HERO CUP to the elementary, middle, and high schools that raised the most money. Winners from last year were Adairsville Elementary with $2,940.66, Woodland Middle with $1,100.00, and the Bartow College and Career Academy with $1,200.00. We will again recognize and pass on the HERO CUP to this year's winners. The deadline for donations will be Tuesday, December 5, 2023.
For some of these children, this is likely the only Christmas gift they will receive. So, thank you in advance for helping to make this Christmas a little extra special for some of our children.
Please contact the BCCCA at 770-606-5182 for more information! We THANK YOU in advance for your support!!!

Continually monitors the hub and grabs kids (especially Fridays) that struggle & takes them to a quiet room for extra reading guidance.
Word of the Day – challenges kids to learn a new word each day while exiting to the busses.

Let's Hit the Road Together!

We are excited to announce that the Engineering Program at the Bartow County College and Career Academy has been awarded a substantial grant of $121,000 from the Georgia Department of Education (GADOE). This grant, the Electric Vehicle (EV) Maintenance Lab Grant, is a significant endorsement of our commitment to advancing engineering, energy, and automotive education in high schools.
The Electric Vehicle (EV) Maintenance Lab Grant, provided by the GADOE, aims to empower high school engineering, energy, and automotive service technology pathways with the latest EV technology. The $121,000 grant will be pivotal in supporting our mission to equip students with cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills in the rapidly evolving field of electric vehicles.
This grant will enable the CCA to:
*Establish a state-of-the-art Electric Vehicle Maintenance Lab, providing students with hands-on experience in EV technology.
*Develop and implement curriculum enhancements to incorporate EV technology into our engineering, energy, and automotive service programs.
*Facilitate teacher training and professional development to ensure instructors are well-equipped to teach EV-related subjects.
