Friday, October 22 -Wear a hat for $1.00 and don’t forget your Kona Ice money too! All proceeds go to our school wide PBIS program.
Book Character Parade
Friday, October 29– Dress as your favorite book character (school appropriate costumes only). Parents are invited to enjoy the fun as we parade outside starting at 9:00 AM. In case of inclement weather, we will stream live on Facebook for parents to enjoy from home.
ADOPT-A-DOOR at Hamilton Crossing Elementary

(Decorating can be completed Monday-Thursday 8:00-5:30)

Winning classrooms (Prek-2nd and 3-5th grades will earn a special treat)
Fall Break for students will be Monday, October 4 – Wednesday, October 6. Have a safe break, we will see everyone on Thursday, October 7!

KONA ICE and HAT DAY TOMORROW
Tomorrow Kona Ice will be here, students will have the opportunity to purchase during their recess time.
Tomorrow is also hat day, students can purchase a ticket for $1 from their homeroom teacher!
REMINDER: Tomorrow is an Early Release Day! Elementary schools dismiss at 11:30 a.m. and middle/high schools dismiss at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will still be served, and buses will run on an early dismissal schedule. After School Programs will continue to operate.
APTT INFORMATION
Parents, tonight is our first APTT Night of the year. As you are aware, this academic year continues to have many challenges and adjustments within our school and school system; therefore, in order to keep our HCES family and staff safe we're excited to offer this meeting virtually again this year! This will also allow you the opportunity to visit all of your children's classes at your own convenience. Your student will be bringing home a folder/bag with information. There will be a letter with information on how to access the videos for each grade level.
We ask that after you watch the video to take a moment and complete the survey (one for each child you have enrolled). By doing so, you will earn 10 Dojo points for your child and a chance for your child’s name to be placed in a door prize drawing. The window for surveys will be open from today (September 9, 2021) until Friday, September 24, 2021. You can find a QR code on the back of the blue letter in your child’s packet OR in the file labeled “Letter AND Survey” on the One Drive where you found the videos.
We also have a folder with a message from our Special Area teachers. There are a lot of new faces, so be sure to watch their short video where they will introduce themselves and share what they are working on in their classes this year.

STEM CLUB APPLICATIONS
Parents, STEM Club sign ups were a big success! At this point, all sign ups are full, and anyone else who signs up will go on a waiting list.
Mrs. Abernathy will be in contact with you by September 17 to let you know which session your child will be in!

STEM Applications are now being accepted. Registration opens Sept 7 at 6pm and will close Sept 10 at 9am. NO APPLICATIONS will be accepted once it closes. Applications MUST BE filled out completely to be considered. You will be notified by Sept 17th which session your child is assigned or if you child is on the waiting list.

CONGRATULATIONS

TEACHER OF THE YEAR
Congratulations to Mrs. Natalie McPherson, one of our 4th Grade teachers for being selected as Teacher of the Year for Hamilton Crossing Elementary!
Does your child love science, technology, engineering, and math? STEM Club Applications will be open to all 3rd - 5th grade students. The application process opens on Sept 7th at 6:00 pm and will close on Sept 10th at 9:00 am. Spots will be based on first come first serve and full completion of the application. This year's STEM Club teacher will be Mrs. Shelly Abernathy.
STEM Club will meet on Tuesday afternoons from 3:00 - 4:00 pm. There will be 4 different sessions offered: Sphero Robotics, Stop Motion Animation, Ozobot Robotics, and Green Screen Movie Making. Each session will last for 5 weeks. (This is different than past STEM Clubs. Your child will possibly only attend 1 session for 5 weeks.) You will be notified by Sept 17th which session(s) your child may be assigned. If your child has another club or commitment on Tuesday afternoons, he/she will need to decide which to attend. Attendance is critical to complete the lessons in 5 sessions. You MUST sign up for the STEM CLUB REMIND in order to receive important information that pertains to STEM Club. You will be signed up once your child is accepted into the club. Good Luck applicants!

Remember, it is the parents/guardians' responsibility to inform the school nurse every school year of any medical conditions or emergency medications and obtain the forms needed for that student.
