This morning, 2nd grade had a TEAMS meeting with Woodland High School students from the AP Biology class and magnet program. Students were able to ask questions and learn more about life cycles.

Having fun in PE today!

Thank you EKG for coming and encouraging our fifth grade students to be the best that they can be! We've loved having you come in this year to speak to our students every month.

Josh Trower and Amy Torrence from The Southern Museum provided 1st grade students with a hands-on presentation of how trains use magnets. Students learned about how magnetic forces repel or attract, electromagnetism, and how our earth is a big magnet due to its iron core!
REAL WORLD CONNECTIONS:
Junk yards use electro-magnets to load freight trains. Students can see freight cars full of scrap metal going through Emerson.
The steam locomotive that was stolen during the Great Locomotive chase ran through Emerson. This train is on display at The Southern Museum.

Red Top Middle School's Honor Band and Honor Chorus visited 5th grade students yesterday to share information about joining band and chorus in middle school. It was great to see all the Emerson alumni participating!
