Our first graders had an amazing time at today’s petting zoo! 🐐🐰🐓 As they met and observed each animal up close, students made real-world connections to Module 2: Creature Features from our Arts & Letters curriculum. They noticed fur, feathers, beaks, tails, and more—using their new knowledge to talk about how each feature helps the animal survive and thrive. Hands-on learning made for a fun day of discovery!

Our 3rd grade students had the incredible opportunity to join a live Zoom call with Dr. Sandra “Sandy” Magnus—Georgia Tech graduate, Professor of Practice at GTRI, NASA astronaut, and a 2022 inductee into the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame! 👩‍🚀⭐ Dr. Magnus shared her inspiring journey to becoming an astronaut, her three NASA missions, and what it was like spending over 150 days in space. Students also got to listen in as kids from across Georgia asked her amazing questions about space travel, training, and life beyond Earth’s atmosphere. Experiences like this are rare, and we are so thankful for Georgia Tech Research Institute for allowing our students to connect with a real astronaut! 🚀💛
