There will be a Read to Grow training next Thursday, 8/26, at 10am at the BCCCA. This will be the last training before we start on 9/8.
We are excited to announce that race registration for this year's 5th Annual Backpack Buddies 5K is open! The race will be held on August 28th. There is a $500 prize for the school with the most people signed up. Pre-registration is open until 8/22. Little runners can sign up for the Fun Run. Not interested in running or walking, no problem! There is a Ghost Runner option that still scores you a super cute t-shirt and supports an amazing cause! Please sign up today!

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!
We need YOU, our community members, to support students who are struggling with foundational reading skills. If you can spend an hour a week (ideally) in one of our schools, you can make a difference in a child’s future. No experience is necessary, just attend a training and get started.

BARTOW GIVE A KID A CHANCE: This AMAZING event is happening this month already! See below for registration information. It will be a drive-thru event at all locations again this year. Volunteers will bring out backpacks full of school supplies to your vehicle. Unfortunately, they will not be able to provide haircuts or health screenings.
So, load up your kids and come down! "Blessings from the BLESS Coalition" because we all know how expensive school supplies are!

Mrs. Misztak is returning to Emerson Elementary School where her teaching career began in 2011. Her educational experience includes 4th grade teacher, EIP teacher for grades 3-5, MTSS/504 Coordinator, and Teacher of the Year at Emerson Elementary, and most recently, Media Specialist at Hamilton Crossing Elementary.
Mrs. Misztak has lived in Bartow County for 16 years. She and her husband, Marcin, have two sons, Gavin and Easton, who will attend Cass Middle School next year. She enjoys traveling with her family, spending time at the lake, and watching her boys on the soccer field. She is proud to live and work in a community that she loves. If you shop at Aldi, you are likely to run into her. She loves the weekly finds aisle!
