Remember the goal is to be known as a supportive person. To do that we need to be intentional with every relationship around us. Think about your friends, family, classmates, or teachers. We must look around us and see who needs help and take the step to be there for them! Here are a few ways that you can meet the needs of those around you and live it out!!
• Ask one of your friends if you can support them by attending one of their events.
• Help your younger sibling do their homework if they’re feeling overwhelmed. Your parent will thank you!
• Surprise your parents by doing a chore without being asked. For bonus points, ask if they have any chores around the house that you could check off their list!
• Look for ways to “be there” for your friends. Go to one of their school events or offer to study together with a friend you know is struggling in class.
• Be a model of support by asking teachers or coaches if you can come early to help them out or stay late to pitch in. Encourage others to do the same.

Just a reminder, Wednesday, September 21, is an Early Release Day!
High schools dismiss at 12:30 p.m.
Practice, practice, practice!! To become more supportive, we need to practice giving support. Whether with your friends, family, classmates, or teachers,
it takes intentionality to be supportive and it takes practicing giving it daily!
What two specific people will you give support to this week?
• Who needs you to attend an event with them?
• Who needs you to offer support with a problem or struggle?
• Who needs you to show them how to do something?
• Who needs you to be with them while they are working on something hard?
• Who needs you to show up when they are feeling alone or overwhelmed?
Take time this week to look around you and be there for someone else!

BCCCA Teacher Academy students had a great day at the Aspiring Educators of Tomorrow event at Kennesaw State University!
CONGRATULATIONS to Mrs. Meghan Johnson for being selected as the BCCCA 2022-23 Teacher of the Year! Her colleagues nominated and selected Mrs. Johnson for this prestigious award because of her amazing knowledge, charisma, and skills in the classroom. The students love and appreciate all that she brings into the classroom by enriching the environment through her love of teaching.
We all have a need for support, but we also have personal ways we like for others to give support to us. So, what does it look like or feel like to you? To give
support it must be personal, and we need to understand it personally! Look at the following five unique dimensions.
Which of these five is most important to you?
• Offer practical help to me when I’m struggling or overwhelmed.
• Ask me about the best way you can help me.
• Attend my concerts, sporting events, family events, or competitions to show
your care and support for me.
• Offer to support me by introducing me to new friends or new ideas.
• Adapt your plans or schedule to be with me when I am struggling.

Have you ever been left alone when you really needed someone to help
you? To be supportive means that we must come alongside someone else and help them with a problem or struggle. In a time when we have been isolated for so long, we must be more intentional to be there for one another!
Show You Care: Talk to another person about their need for support. Notice what is important to them. Try saying something like, “I’m trying to learn more about how to give support. What does support look like, or sound like to you?” Finally, plan a time when you can give support to this person. Put it on your calendar before you leave!

As we wrap up the first month of #BartowCares4U, we celebrated our students showing respect by being present at school. Mrs. Burkhalter's 1st Period class had the best attendance rate in our morning session, and Ms. Richard's 3rd Period class has the best attendance in our afternoon session.
We also love the bulletin board Mrs. Burkhalter's class made for the program!
