We’re a little behind on our PBIS Rewards student of the week, due to technology difficulties over the last few weeks. We announce two winners today: Jacobs’s Johnson, Jr. and Katerina Torres. Congratulations and thanks for practicing the Woodland Way. We will be announcing more winners soon. #TheWoodlandWay

Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour tonight.

What a special thing it is to have Cliff Ellis stop by our school today. If you are a true college basketball fan and have followed the game for any length of time, you know who Cliff Ellis is. Over the last several decades, he has coached at several Division-1 universities, including Clemson, Auburn and most recently at Coastal Carolina. He started his career as a high school basketball coach. He also happens to be the father of our registrar, Anna Catherine Moore. He gave me a signed copy of his latest book, Life's a Dance: Understand the Steps. The man knows his basketball. What a great conversation. #TheWoodlandWay

8th grade physical science did a spooky lab as an extension today reviewing density, chemical reactions, and chemical equations. Density towers- students created density towers to experiment with how different substances have different densities and how that could affect solutions.
Glow-stick lab- students learned the science behind glow-sticks and how their glow is created from chemical reactions.
Candy molecules- students balanced chemical equations and built 3D molecules out of candy.

Tomorrow is Hat Day! Wear your favorite hat for the low, low price of $1. #TheWoodlandWay

8th grade GA Studies has been learning about Westward Expansion in Georgia. Today and tomorrow the students are using the information they learned and applying it in stations. The stations are a Blooket!, Pictionary, writing their name in the Cherokee language, panning for gold, Document Based Question (DBQ) and a hexagonal concept map. The students really enjoyed today!

A great celebration tonight of all the teachers of the year in the Bartow County School System. So proud of Cassie Jones, our teacher of the year for WMS. #TheWoodlandWay #TOTY #BetterInBartow
