WMS 8th Grade Parents/Students:
I want to encourage you all to apply for any or all of our Bartow County School Magnet Programs. The deadline to apply is next Tuesday, December 5, 2023. These programs are such an incredible opportunity for our students in Bartow County. Please know that applying or even being accepted does not mean you have to go into that program. But it at least gives you choices and opportunities. If you have not applied for any of our magnet programs yet, please consider doing so. If you'd like more information, please see our 8th grade counselor, Ms. Donato. There is also a course on Schoology where you can get more information on the magnet programs. It's Ms. Donato's course called 8th grade: Class of 2028.
Here is a link to the application: https://forms.office.com/r/M9Qp0E7atA

Mark your calendars to go out and support our students!

WMS Family: I want to invite you all to come to our STEAM Night tomorrow, Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. This event will be in our main gym. You will not want to miss STEAM Night. It is now in its 7th year and only gets better every year. This year we will have tables for automotive, aviation, law enforcement and others. This is a great way for our students and family members to see how education and STEAM connect to the real world. Please plan to join us tomorrow evening. I look forward to seeing you there.

Today starts our Coin War. This is a fundraiser to raise funds for our CATS Council parent group. The funds will be used to support staff and student incentives. The grade level that wins will get to watch the winning teachers pie the losing teachers. Also, there will be a special prize for the students who raise the most for their grade. Let’s get this coin war started. The Coin war goes from November 1-17. #TheWoodlandWay

Congratulations again to these students who were selected as October Students of the Month. Keep displaying The Woodland Way!

8th graders: please see this important information on the Magnet Program application. #TheWoodlandWay

Saw this on a teacher's bulletin board and had to share. These are important truths we need to be teaching our students. #TheWoodlandWay

Our teachers may have two days of collaboration each week, but that doesn't stop them from collaborating every day, even between classes. Ms. Mayer and Ms. Yohe are practicing the right work for their students. #TheWoodlandWay

What a joy to honor our October Students of the Month for the character word "approval." This is one of our favorite things to do as we celebrate the right work students are doing and let their parents see and hear. #TheWoodlandWay

We are proud of Mrs. Tia Wilkes, our ILT. She presented at the STEM Forum in Athens today. Her topic was "The Role of STEM Community Partners." She is representing THE Woodland Middle School and BCSS well #TheWoodlandWay #STEM #STEMFORUM23
