Woodland High School is excited to announce the selection of Andy Scott as its Head Football Coach. With an extensive background in coaching football and a proven track record of success as head coach, Coach Scott brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to excellence to Woodland High. Coach Scott has been the Head Football Coach at LaFayette High School in Walker County, GA since 2021. Prior to that, Coach Scott turned around a Kennesaw Mountain High School program that had won only 1 game in 2 years, bringing them to playoff contention in a 7A classification that included several powerhouse programs. At Perry High School, Scott’s teams became state contenders, advancing to the quarterfinals in 2007. At each school Scott’s tenure was marked by a dedication to building winning team programs while instilling a culture of hard work, discipline, and sportsmanship. Commenting on his new home, Coach Scott expressed his enthusiasm for joining Woodland High School and the Bartow County community. "Nothing matters more than the relationships you build with your players, their parents, your coaches, and your Team.," said Coach Scott. "Together, we will establish a cultural standard of excellence where every player and coach is passionate about working tirelessly to achieve success both on and off the field." Woodland High School Principal Dave Stephenson echoed these sentiments, stating, "We are thrilled to welcome Coach Scott to our school community. His impressive coaching pedigree, combined with his commitment to fostering a positive and supportive environment, make him the ideal leader for our football program." Woodland Athletic Director John Howard notes “With over 30 years of playing and coaching experience, Coach Scott separated himself from an excellent group of potential candidates. Coach Scott has hit the ground running, evaluating the program, athletes, and coaches as well as working on scheduling. We welcome Coach Scott as the 7th Head Football Coach and know he is the right man to lead the Wildcats." Please join us in welcoming Coach Scott, his wife Claudia and son Justin to the Woodland Family!
