Today we were honored to welcome several district leaders and board members to White Elementary for a Literacy Walk. It was a proud day as they visited classrooms, engaged with students, and saw firsthand the incredible work happening with our new literacy curriculum, Arts and Letters. From rich text discussions to joyful reading moments, our students and teachers truly showcased what it means to embrace learning at a high level.
Thank you to our BCSS district leaders and board members for taking the time to celebrate the strong instruction, student engagement, and commitment to excellence happening every day at White Elementary. We are proud of the growth we’re seeing and excited about the impact this new curriculum is having on our Warriors!

🌱🔎 5th Grade Scientists in Action at WES! 🔎🌱
Today our 5th graders had the opportunity to learn from Paul Pugliese with the Bartow County UGA Extension Office! He introduced students to an important scientific tool called a dichotomous key — a step-by-step way to identify plants and other living things by answering a series of simple questions with two choices.
Students learned how scientists use observation skills and critical thinking to sort and classify organisms. Then they put their new knowledge into action! 🙌
Our 5th graders will be creating their own dichotomous keys to help support learning in our new greenhouse at WES. 🌿🏫 This hands-on project will strengthen their science skills while connecting directly to real-world applications in agriculture and plant science.
A big thank you to Mr. Pugliese for inspiring our young scientists and helping us grow learning opportunities at WES! 💚

Congratulations to our Warrior Bots! 🎉🤖
This team of 4th & 5th grade students has been working together since August to research, code, and prepare presentations for the First LEGO League qualifier event held earlier in January. Their hard work paid off as they earned 1st place in Robot Design!
The Warrior Bots will advance to the regional championship on Feb. 7th, alongside three other Bartow County elementary teams. There, they will compete against 16 elementary and middle school teams from across Northwest Georgia.
We are so proud of their teamwork, perseverance, and innovation—go Warrior Bots! 💙🚀
