Notes from the nurse: All medications must be picked up by May 24, 2024. Anything remaining will be destroyed. BCSS does not provide over the counter medications for students. In order for your child to be given any medications at school, there are required forms to be filled out. All prescription medications require a physician order and a medication permit. These forms can be found on the Bartow County Website at www.bartow.k12.ga.us under the Parents section in Nurse/Clinic Forms. Forms for SY 2024-2025 will not be available online until after school is out of session for this year. Thank you for your cooperation. First doses of a new medication or changes in dosages should be given at home to monitor for possible side effects. No medications can be transported to and from school on the bus. Please contact your school nurse with questions.

AHS Swimming lessons AHS swimming pool June 3-6 and June 10-13; email: adairsvillehighswim@gmail.com; registration will be open May 3rd and a link will be sent once you've signed up. You'll receive an email confirming if your child has a spot or has been added to the waitlist. payment will be due in full ($50) on the first day of the camp. Sessions: for each week there will be 3 sessions each night. Session 1: 3-5pm, Session 2: 4-5pm, Session 3: 5-6pm; Swim lessons for ages 4 year old through 5th grade; must be potty trained; Expectation: team swimmers, under the instruction of Coach Barnett, will be teaching the lessons. We will have a lifeguard on duty for additional safety. Estimadas familias de CMS, El 8 de abril de 2024 viviremos un eclipse solar total. Aunque el condado de Bartow no está en el camino directo de la totalidad, el eclipse será parcialmente visible desde aproximadamente la 1:40 p.m. hasta las 4:00 p.m. Este fenómeno científico es apasionante para muchos y una gran oportunidad de aprendizaje para nuestros alumnos. El Sistema Escolar del Condado de Bartow proporcionará gafas de visualización solar seguras para los estudiantes y el personal durante el evento. Los de tercer grado a duodécimo participarán en actividades de eclipse basadas en la alfabetización y saldrán a ver el eclipse con nuestras gafas que han sido certificadas por la Organización Internacional de Normalización (ISO) y etiquetadas como compatibles con la norma ISO 12312-2. Dear CMS Families, On April 8, 2024, we will experience a total solar eclipse. Although Bartow County is not in the direct path of totality, the eclipse will be partially visible from approximately 1:40 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. This scientific phenomenon is exciting for many and a great learning opportunity for our students. Cass Middle School will provide safe solar viewing glasses for all students and staff. Our science classes will participate in literacy-based eclipse activities emphasizing safety practices for students to go outside to view the eclipse. Our glasses have been safety certified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and labeled ISO 12312-2 compliant. Students will be able to view the Eclipse outside from 2:45 until 3:05 when they will return inside to prepare for our regular dismissal time. Students will be able to keep the glasses to wear during dismissal. If you do not want your child participating in the outside solar eclipse viewing activities, please complete the form below by March 22, 2024. Alternate instructional options will be available for opt-out students. I wish for my child to remain inside while his/her class views the partial eclipse outside on Monday, April 8, 2024.
