TEACHERS LEADING TEACHERS: Yesterday Woodland High School’s Guiding Coalition led four rotations on the PLC process. Guiding Coalition members made a compelling argument for the “Why” and brought the three big ideas of the process to life through skits and demonstrations.


We are excited to introduce these men to our Science Department! Mr. Bensley teaches physical science, and Mr. Rowe and Mr. Benton teach Biology. Also, Mr. Bensley is our new Head Girls Cross Country Coach, and Mr. Rowe is the Defensive Coordinator for our Football team!

Welcome to Dr. Boone Benton, our Lead Counselor! Dr. Benton joins us from Brookwood High School and brings over 15 years professional counseling experience to Woodland!


WHS welcomes Ms. Nicole Bezerra! Ms. Bezerra will be teaching English Learners in ELA and science. Ms. Bezerra has worked in elementary schools in the past but has always wanted to work with high schoolers. She is Tri-lingual, speaking English, Spanish, and Portuguese!


We are excited to share HUGE results from our Advanced Placement program. Woodland students have doubled not only their number of AP participants but also the % of testers earning college credit-qualifying scores. 70 AP scholars in 2023 and 11 AP Teachers of Distinction!


Woodland Welcomes Ashley Hogsed, our new Media Specialist! Ms. Hogsed joins us from Cass HS. She is excited to build connections with students and staff to ensure that our Media Center is fully engaged in the learning and well-being of our students.


Woodland welcome Ms. Tassie Stone, our new Learning Support Specialist! Ms. Stone comes to us from Adairsville Middle School and looks forward to supporting teachers and students to help ensure learning for ALL WHS students.

Mrs. Hennington and the WHS Journalism Staff are excited to announce the new student editing team for the 2022-2023 school year! We can't wait to see what the future holds as our Journalism Program leaders and students continue to create our bi-weekly video broadcast, fill our halls with updated photography celebrating our staff and students, and create our WHS yearbook! Go Wildcats!


The chairs and stage are set. The scoreboard is on, and we are excited to honor the Class of ‘22! Any weather issues will be posted on FB.
