April 29th is our 3rd Annual Red Apple Run 5K and 1.5 Mile Walk to benefit Bartow Education Foundation.
Last year’s 5K was a success, and we raised around $16,000. The 5K and Walk will be held again at Hamilton Crossing Park with the Start and Finish Lines and Award Ceremony at Cass Middle School Track. We will have our school competition again this year, and your school could win $500. Most importantly, the money raised for this 5K and Walk goes directly to the Teacher Grants to reward innovation in the classroom.
Even if you do not plan to walk or run, you can still participate as a Ghost Runner and will receive the 2023 T-shirt. WES would like to encourage our parents and staff to participate in this event so our school can win $500! Make sure to fill out the School Affiliation line when you register online so your school wins:

Attention Rising 5th Graders!
Please join us in congratulating Gabriel for placing 1st in Cat Care for the 4-H Project Achievement.
Project Achievement is one of the largest and most exciting, challenging and rewarding programs offered by Georgia 4-H. 4-H’ers choose a project area of interest, research a topic, then write and present an oral presentation to others. The project achievement process is about hands on learning, self-confidence, and sharing knowledge.
Used Book Sale begins today!

Our Mighty Megawatt robotics team wrapped up the 2022 - 2023 season by placing 2nd in Core Values at the Georgia Highlands Showcase this past weekend.
Throughout their season, they were guided by the FIRST ® Core Values:
Discovery: We explore new skills and ideas.
Innovation: We use creativity and persistence to solve problems.
Impact: We apply what we learn to improve our world.
Inclusion: We respect each other and embrace our differences.
Teamwork: We are stronger when we work together.
Fun: We enjoy and celebrate what we do!
Judges looked for the core value components during the team's Innovation Project presentation, Robot Design showcase, and during the robot game.
We are SO proud of them for working together, collaborating, and making this a "SUPERPOWERED" season! Congratulations!
The Last Word Literary Guild, Cass High's book club, celebrated Read Across America Week with some of our WES students by taking a field trip together. Students went on a tour of the Bartow County Public Library. After the trip, we returned to WES for some classroom read-alouds by our CHS visitors!
Thank you so much to Kayla Jackson, CHS Media Specialist, and her book club students for helping us celebrate Read Across America Week.
