As most of you know, EHES is working towards STEM certification for Bartow County. We are continuing to grow our STEM program and would like to have members of our Euharlee family who work in STEM careers come in to share about their occupation and/or help during STEM activities. This survey will take approximately 4 minutes to complete.
Please reach out to Mrs. Boyter with any questions.

This morning, Donald and Brittany Tardy picked up all the Hurricane Ida donations to take to Louisiana. They will be leaving tomorrow and driving to either Grand Isle or Houma, Louisiana for delivery. Thank you to everyone who donated! Thank you also to Mr. Bishop for helping load the truck.

We are excited to share that we are partnering with OLA Language School to provide classes for our ESOL parents to learn how to speak English. The classes will be held on Mondays or Thursdays from 6 - 7:30 at the BCCCA and parents will only be asked to pay $20 for the six week session.
There is also a class for educators to learn Spanish

Ms. Brown's Pre-K class worked on counting eight legs and following directions.

Spider and Web Challenge
Our students have been very interested in “Charlotte” the spider who has created a beautiful web outside the café window. In her honor, the October STEM challenge is to create a web that can hold a spider. The web and spider should be made from items around your house. Think through the engineering process as you ask, imagine, plan, create, and improve your web! Be creative and have fun!
Many students were able to listen to the text Super Spider by J. Blake and learn about scientists that study spiders and insects.
Bring your design to school to be displayed in the media center by November 3, 2021 or email a picture to pat.boyter@bartow.k12.ga.us.

“Registration for Hope for Christmas is now open until October 31, 2021. If you will need assistance this holiday season, please register as soon as possible. Each family will receive everything needed to prepare a holiday meal, winter wear, and toys for the registered children. Children are included through their senior year of high school.”

Dear Parent or Guardian,
We are excited to announce that the Euharlee Elementary STEM Club is back and will begin meeting on September 29th. The STEM program at Euharlee, led by Mrs. Segars and Mrs. Oliver, is designed to enrich student learning in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and related careers. This year, STEM club will continue to meet 4 separate sessions. Students that are invited to join the STEM Club will have the opportunity to attend at least 2 of the four STEM sessions. This year, the four STEM sessions are: Session 1: Beginners Robotics, Session 2: Advanced Robotics, Session 3: Beginners Stop Motion Animation/Green Screen, and Session 4: Advanced Stop Motion Animation/Green Screen
Your child has expressed an interest in joining the STEM Club at Euharlee Elementary School. Please understand that this letter does not guarantee a spot for your child in the STEM Club. This is the first step in the application process. For a student to become a member, students must apply by responding to the questions attached to this form. Session Descriptions
Session 1: Beginners Robotics- In this session, students will write code to program Sphero and Ozobot robots. Students will also participate in coding/engineering challenges in which they must program the robots to complete simple tasks.
Session 2: Advanced Robotics- In this session, students will take coding to the next level as they write code to program Sphero and Ozobot robots.
Session 3: Beginners Stop Motion Animation & Green Screen- During this session, students will get the opportunity to combine engineering with stop motion animation. Stop motion animation is the process of capturing one frame (picture or image) at a time using physical objects that are moved between frames. When students play back the sequence of the images, an illusion of movement is created (think Claymation-style animation, as with Wallace & Gromit). This session will also include Green Screen. During this session, students will work with a green screen app called “Green Screen by Do Ink”. After students learn the basics of using the app, they will collaborate with other students to produce their own video.
Session 4: Advanced Stop Motion Animation & Green Screen- This session is designed for students who have experience with stop motion animation as well as green screen. During this session, students will jump into the production process by creating their own movies. Students may be required to do some research or planning before this session begins.
Students interested in joining the STEM Club need to check their level of experience for each session below. Please place a check mark in either the beginner box or advanced box for the sessions.
