We are excited to announce Mrs. Jessica Miro as our 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year for Clear Creek Elementary! Mrs. Miro has been teaching for a total of seven years. Her career started in 2018 in Savannah, Georgia before she joined us at Clear Creek in 2020 as an ELA teacher in third grade. In 2022, Mrs. Miro earned her Master’s in Education degree from Piedmont University. She is currently working towards her Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Berry College.
Mrs. Miro is following in her mother’s footsteps, who is currently a teacher at Rockmart Middle School. Mrs. Miro has always been inspired by her mother’s work. “Her commitment to education and the way she nurtured her students’ growth sparked a desire in me to follow in her footsteps and become a teacher.” When asked what she loves most about teaching, Mrs. Miro replied, “Being able to see students overcome challenges, gain confidence in reading, and develop a love for learning is incredibly rewarding!”
Mrs. Miro has a husband named Cody and a miniature schnauzer named Lola. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, antiquing, and of course, reading! Again, congratulations to Mrs. Miro! This was a well-deserved honor for an amazing teacher!
