College Access Day (See flyers below!)
These two half- day events are to assist Hispanic and Latino students in Bartow County navigate and better understand financial aid (FAFSA) applications, college admissions, and access local scholarships with the understanding that language may be a barrier to gaining college access.
Both sessions will include a FAFSA application walk-thru with detailed guidance, admissions information for Chattahoochee Technical College and Georgia Highlands College, and how to access local scholarships through the Etowah Scholarship Foundation.
Both events are to help Hispanic, Latino, and native Spanish speakers better understand and improve college access and will be mostly in Spanish.
Parents are encouraged to attend. Childcare will be provided by qualified staff from St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and refreshments will be served.
Who Should Attend: Hispanic and Latino high school Juniors and Seniors who want to go to college but may have a language barrier. Bring parents, too!

What to Bring: Bring the following items; but please attend even if you don’t have all these documents.
- A laptop or tablet
- Your Social Security number (it’s important that you enter it correctly on the FAFSA form!)
- Your parents’ Social Security numbers if you are a dependent student
- Your driver’s license number if you have one
- Your Alien Registration number if you are not a U.S. citizen
- Federal tax information, tax documents, or tax returns, including IRS W-2 information, for you (and your spouse, if you are married), and for your parents if you are a dependent student:
- IRS Form1040
- Foreign tax return or IRS Form 1040-NR
- Tax return for Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, or Palau
- Records of your untaxed income, such as child support received, interest income, and veterans noneducation benefits, for you, and for your parents if you are a dependent student
- Information on cash; savings and checking account balances; investments, including stocks and bonds and real estate (but not including the home in which you live); and business and farm assets for you and for your parents if you are a dependent student
