We are excited to announce that Coach Spencer Smith has been promoted to the Strength, Conditioning, and Nutrition Coordinator at Cass High School. Originally graduating from the University of Hawaii, where he was a four-year letterman in football, Coach Smith has also previously coached at Kell High School from 2012-2022. He is currently the Head Coach of the Girls Soccer team and the Co-Defensive Coordinator and Special Teams Coordinator for the football team where he also works with defensive backs and is the tackling coordinator. He is the founder and president of Triple H Tackling Academy, a premier academy aiming to teach safe tackling practices to athletes and coaches from youth to the NFL. He’s worked with NFL players such as Steve McLendon, Stefon Diggs, and Jermaine Burton. He also came to Cass with endorsements by Super Bowl winning coach Bruce Arians and Super Bowl champion Steve McLendon.  Additionally, he has trained numerous NFL and NCAA athletes.

Recently, he was named the 2024 Georgia Elite Classic Defensive Coordinator of the year. “Practice makes permanent not perfect”, remarked Coach Smith when asked about his attitude towards strength and conditioning. “I am super excited to take on this role and I’m excited to help the school grow in continuation of what Coach Bobby Hughes has already done. Go Colonels”. Outside of the field or weight room, Coach Smith enjoys spending time with his wife Cara and two daughters Audrey and Juliette playing golf, basketball, uno, and taking care of their chickens.
