This is what was said about her at the school board meeting on 1/13/25:
“Mrs. Guse is our trilingual counselor that has been at our school for over ten years. She has been instrumental in connecting our school with local churches, universities, and non-profit organizations for school-wide events and donations for students and families. She helped plan (since the summer) our Hope for Christmas event with a local church in which over 600 community members were provided with fun holiday activities, gifts, and food for their whole family. She hosts a weekly meeting with our staff to provide emotional support. She provides school wide professional learning for our staff about trauma informed instruction and managing secondary trauma. Often, she is found in the community on the weekends donating her time with local non-profit organizations. Her ability to communicate in three languages helps us to fully engage with our community and build trust. There is not a problem she cannot help us figure out how to fix together as a team. Every day our motto is ‘let's save the world today’ and she truly means it. She loves all students and families, even in their most difficult moments she provides resources and emotional support. She is humble, kind, never looking for praise but she truly deserves it!”– ALES Principal Jennifer Suarez
