The Adairsville Raider Teams competed in the National Raider Championships at Fort Knox, KY on October 25-27. Competing against 320 teams from 38 states and US territories, the Adairsville Teams had an amazing performance. The Male team, who was the 2023 National Champion, competing in the All-Male Division and finished as the National Runner-Up missing first place by the narrowest of margins. They placed first in the One-Rope Bridge and the Cross-Country Rescue Events and was the only team to trophy in all six of the team events by finishing in the top five in each event. They also placed second in the Physical Fitness Test Event which consisted of one minute of push-ups, one minute of sit-ups and a one-mile run.
The Mixed Team, which consisted of seven boys and seven girls, placed seventh overall in the Mixed Division. Considering this team of 14 only had one Senior and eight Freshmen and Sophomores, makes this an incredible accomplishment. They placed second in the Cross-Country Rescue Event, third in the One Rope Bridge Event, and sixth in the Gauntlet event.
These teams will be competing in the Georgia State Championship Saturday at Spalding High School in Griffin, GA.
