Summer Intervention doesn't mean staying inside! AES students along with Mrs. Wilcox took reading outside to the visit the tomato plants. The students chose a tomato plant and read to it. Grow and learn is what our students love to do!

Grade levels have been working hard to earn the GLOW PIZZA party for great cafeteria behaviors. Kindergarten was our winner this year! They enjoyed a fun GLOW party and pizza this afternoon. Great job kindergarten!!!

BCSS: Bartow County Schools will observe a two-hour delay on Wednesday, January 17, due to the extremely cold temperatures forecasted for our area. For those who ride a bus, please add two hours to the time it normally arrives at your stop.

Adairsville Elementary School brings home 1st place trophy for the most participants in the elementary school category at the Georgia Student Technology Competition. In addition, Arya Crosby, 5th grade student, winning 1st place for Audio Production. Saydie Ray and Ellie Hardman, fourth grade students, won 1st place in Robotics. Myles Whitlock, third grade student, won 2nd place for 3-D design. Javy Padilla, Ramon Dilbeck, and Killian Whitlock participated in Digital Gaming. We are very proud of our students and look forward to next year! A special thank you to Media Specialist, Regina Hicks, and Gateway teachers, Leigha Ellis and Angie Pinkard for assisting our students and promoting the event.

2nd Grader Cylus Milwood: Point of Pride Cylus is a student who always does the right thing and exemplifies each of our PAWS attributes. His motivation and determination are key components of his academic success. Cylus not only participates in class discussions, but he is also available for students in need. Overall, Cylus’ understanding of responsibility, respectful manners, and consistent positive behaviors make him a true joy to teach in any classroom setting.

Time to celebrate perfect attendance for AES faculty and staff. Early today, we drew out the winners. Sue Ellen Barfield and Amandelyn Sorrell won an Amazon gift card $25 for having perfect attendance for the 1st 9 weeks. Thank you, Lee Holman from Horace Mann for providing the sought after prize!

Congratulations to Angie Pinkard and Heidi Sims for winning the AES PTO Amazon $100 Gift Card drawing. AES had 100% faculty and staff participate in the Etowah Foundation Grant Writing this school year. We can't wait to hear who has been chosen to win his/her grant, but in the meantime, we wanted to show our appreciation to everyone that worked hard on writing one.
