College, Career, and Counseling Director Dr. Greg Doss helped lay the foundation and grow one of the most sought-after schools in Bartow County and now he has the privilege of leading it!
Monday night, the Bartow County Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of Dr. Doss as principal of the Bartow County College and Career Academy.
He will succeed Dr. Paul Sabin, who is retiring in June.
“I am excited to become a part of the Academy family,” says Dr. Doss. “Dr. Sabin, the Board of Directors, business partners, instructors, and staff have created a phenomenal foundation in learning opportunities for our students. I am looking forward to working with everyone to build on that foundation.”
Over the past seven years, Dr. Doss has cultivated countless relationships with local business and industry professionals as well as with post-secondary school leaders. As a result of that communication, additional pathways, apprenticeships, internships, dual enrollment, and work- based learning opportunities developed.
“We had nine students graduating with a college diploma in HVAC before receiving their highschool diploma,” says Dr. Doss. “Additionally, we are currently able to offer our students eightdifferent technical certificates, 10 industry-recognized credentials, four college-level career programs, and 10 college-level degree courses.”
Professional credentials include experience as an assistant professor for the Educational Leadership graduate program at Kennesaw State University among many others. Dr. Doss will take those key leadership skills honed over decades and begin the transition to his new role at the Bartow County College and Career Academy.
