PARTNERS IN PREPAREDNESS: When it comes to school safety, relationships matter. That's why our district leaders and public safety partners recently came together for another collaborative training exercise focused on preparedness and response.

As we get ready for the new school year, we are strengthening the partnerships and plans that help keep our students, staff and school communities safe. Special thanks to Kevin Stanfield, Homeland Security Area Coordinator; Major Mark Mayton, Bartow County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Commander; Marcus Warren, Bartow County Fire Deputy Chief/EMA Director; Josh Castleberry, Bartow County Fire Division Chief/Deputy EMA Director; and Billy Henson, Bartow County School Police Chief for sharing their expertise and working alongside us.

The training also included school resource officers, principals, assistant principals, the communications coordinator and central office staff, helping ensure a coordinated approach to emergency preparedness across our schools.

Through preparation, collaboration and valued partnerships, we are working together to ensure a safe and successful start to the school year for everyone.
